2023 Jeep Cherokee Trims and Packages

While most Jeep vehicles have tons of trims and packages to sort through, that's really not the case with the 2023 Cherokee. Jeep's continuing to trim down the Cherokee line, and as such there are only two trim levels for you to pick from in 2023.

But while there are only two trim levels, there are still plenty of packages for you to pick from. Keep reading and we'll go over exactly what each trim level offers and what packages are available. That way you can make an informed decision and end up with the perfect 2023 Jeep Cherokee for you!

2023 Jeep Cherokee Trims

As the Cherokee line trims down and phases out, the number of trim levels available for the Cherokee is phasing down too. There were four trim levels available for the 2022 Jeep Cherokee, but with the 2023 Jeep that number shrinks to two.

But just because there are only two trim levels to choose from doesn't mean that they're not worth checking out or don't give you a ton of options. We'll break them both down for you here.

Altitude Lux

The Altitude Lux is now the "base" trim level for the 2023 Cherokee, but with all the features it comes with it really doesn't feel like a base trim level. All-wheel drive comes standard and it's paired with a 2.4L inline-four that pushes 180 horsepower.

Other premium features that come standard with the Altitude Lux include leather seats, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, heated power-adjustable front seats, a heated front steering wheel, an auto-dimming mirror, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 115-volt outlet.

Meanwhile, Jeep doesn't compromise on standard safety features at this trim level either. Included with every 2023 Jeep Cherokee are features like adaptive cruise control, advanced braking assists, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, a forward collision warning system, a lane departure warning system, and parallel and perpendicular parking assist features.

Trailhawk

If you plan on taking your Cherokee off-road a bit more, then the Trailhawk trim level is the way to go. The first thing different with this trim level is that the inline four-cylinder engine is now gone, and in its place is a more powerful 2.0L turbocharged engine that pushes 270 horsepower.

Helping its off-road capabilities even further is the Jeep Active Drive Lock AWD system with a 2-speed transfer case, a locking rear differential, and even a "Rock" driving mode.

The Trailhawk sits a full inch higher off the ground than the Altitude Lux trim level, and the Trailhawk gets an upgraded off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and additional skid plates to help protect the underside of the vehicle when you're off-road.

The Trailhawk ditches the standard leather seats you'll find in the Altitude Lux trim level, instead going with a cloth upholstery that can withstand a bit heavier use. Additionally, the Trailhawk trim level only has a power driver seat, the passenger seat uses manual adjustments.

These are features that Jeep pushed into the 2023 Cherokee Trailhawk so they could keep the focus on getting you off-road, but if they're features you want then they do offer additional packages for each of them.

2023 Cherokee Packages

While there might only be two trim levels available for the 2023 Cherokee, Jeep gives you more options by opening up a decent number of package options for you to sift through. The packages that are available vary depending on the trim level you go with, and we'll highlight when you can get each one and what they offer for you here.

Lux Elite Package

If you're going with the Altitude Lux trim level and want a more premium feel, then the Lux Elite Package is what you want. This package adds a power sunroof and a hands-free power liftgate to the exterior features.

Moreover, the interior gets a significant upgrade with this package too. The sound system gets an upgrade to a premium Alpine system, the front seats come with ventilation, and there's a memory feature for the positioning of the driver's seat and mirrors.

Premium Leather Package

If you're going with the Trailhawk trim level but still want the leather seats and all the bells and whistles that come with it, then the Premium Leather Package is what you want. With the Premium Leather Package, Jeep replaces the cloth upholstery with leather, and the passenger seat gets powered functions.

The front seats also feature ventilation for additional comfort and there's a memory feature so you don't have to worry about adjusting the seat for different drivers. Finally, this package also gives you a hands-free power liftgate.

Sun and Sound Group

Another package option that's available for the Trailhawk trim level is the Sun and Sound Group. This package adds a premium Alpine sound system and active noise control to fulfill the "Sound" portion of the name, and it adds a sunroof to fulfill the "Sun" portion.

This package is not available with the Altitude Lux trim level, but you can get everything it offers with the Lux Elite Package.

Trailer Tow Group

If you plan on towing something with your 2023 Cherokee, we highly recommend adding on the Trailer Tow Group Package. This package upgrades the total towing capacity to 4,000 pounds, more than enough for most camping or sports equipment.
