First Look at the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

The introduction of a new Jeep Wrangler is always an exciting time. The Wrangler has been a beloved favorite for decades, and it just continues to improve with every iteration. Fans can't wait to see what the Wrangler has to offer next. 

The 2024 model has received a mid-cycle refresh, and it is poised to win over even more fans with all the great things it has to offer. Here's a first look at what we can expect with the 2024 Jeep Wrangler: 

Powertrain

All four engine options for the Jeep Wrangler carry over in the current model, but there are a couple of changes that buyers can look forward to this year. Engine options include a 2.0-liter turbocharged Inline4 engine that puts out 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque; a 3.6-liter V6 engine that puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque; and 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that puts out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Wrangler 4XE has a plug-in hybrid that includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged Inline 4 engine. The hybrid powertrain puts out a combined 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. 

The engines are expected to have improved fuel efficiency, though exact numbers aren't available yet. Buyers who choose the 4XE for the 2024 model can get a new PowerBox that provides four household-style electrical outlets that offer 30 amps of total output. 

Updated Interior

Several upgrades have been made to the interior of the 2024 Wrangler. A larger 12.3-inch infotainment display screen has been added - made possible by the removal of center vents for singular, slimmer vents. Full LED backlighting makes for crisp, color graphics on the new screen. The Wrangler also gets the Uconnect 5 software for the first time. The software offers better navigation maps, can store five user profiles, and provides more vehicle information.

The new Wrangler includes better sound dampening (with acoustic glass and thicker carpeting, among other features), as well as increased speakers and microphones so that you can take calls over Bluetooth more easily. Other upgrades include an accessory rail for phones, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power adjustable front seats, and a hand-wrapped instrument panel.

New Trim Levels

Two new trim levels are available on the 2024 Wrangler: The Sport S 4XE and the Rubicon X. 

The Sport S was created to provide a more affordable Sport 4XE model. It provides a hybrid powertrain that offers 49 mpg-e and 21 miles of electric range. The Rubicon X is a premium option for those looking for off-roading capability with a bit of luxury. It has upgrades like steel bumpers, beadlock-capable wheels, and an integrated off-road camera. It's also available with a 4XE powertrain.
